Upgrades, Retrofits and New Control Systems

In one of our recent projects, we upgraded the control system for a waste water treatment facility where one of our staff engineers initially installed over 20 years ago. The task involved replacing the old GE90-70 with a true VME64 System called the RX7i by GE Fanuc, which provides up to four times the bandwidth of the previous system.

The Project consisted of the following tasks:
· Offline Prototyping the New PLC System.
· Software conversion of the old program to the latest operating system.
· Quick removal of the old PLC's and installing the new PLC's with minimal downtime.
· System Test and Commissioning.

 

New Additions to Water Treatment Facility

Ethernet, in particular, has delivered significant benefits for water treatment plant such as the one in High Point, NC. We assisted in upgrade process of the Allen-Bradley PLC control network to better exchange information with other facilities that are supplying water to this plant which in turn redistributes the water to local residents and businesses.

The Project consisted of the following tasks:
·Building new HMI screens sto show values from remote locations.
·Adding EtherNet/IP communications between Allen-Bradley PLCs.
·Reprogramming PLCs and PCs.
·System Test and Commissioning.
